國際及兩岸學院
南華走向世界 世界走向南華
南華大學國際及兩岸學院(Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs)之設立，旨在推動學校國際化，建立本校與國際及大陸學校之學術教研合作、師生交流互訪、雙聯學制學位、國際志工等機制，期以提升本校師生之國際競爭力與國際移動能力；同時綜理境外學生(含外籍生、僑生、陸生)事務，提供適應校園生活與華語文學習等輔導機制，促進友善的國際化校園發展。
本校為有效整合教育資源以利推動國際化發展，結合美國西來大學、澳洲南天大學、菲律賓光明大學以及台灣佛光大學組成五校一體跨國聯合大學系統，初期規劃以「一校註冊、五校選課」方式，朝向獲取雙學位的方向進行，並有效橫向連結本校行政單位合作以及佛光山全球各地資源，建立本校國際化交流以及學生海外學習的重要特色。

Message from the President
TSONG-MING LIN / President
Welcome to study at Nanhua University, a state of the art university with a strong cultural atmosphere, and strong faculty. We collaborate to develop the university in innovation, and adopt the educational philosophy of the founder, Venerable Master Hsing Yun, to be sure that Nanhua University will emerge as an elite international university with sound character and strong academic standing in the context of higher education.
In response to the flourishing university and the recruitment of international students, the campus landscape and university facilities have been expanded in recent years. Moreover, a variety of scholarships and grants subsidize overseas study based on the academic performance of the students. Fo Guang Shan has over three hundred branches around the world, which are all recruitment channels for international students. Through such platforms and channels, young students around the world are encouraged to learn and grow together at Nanhua University.
I rmly believe that a university, depending upon the participation and inclusion of people of all backgrounds, races, genders, identities, religions, ideologies, and ways of thinking, can become a greater university for students around the world.
Nanhua University also focuses on "life awareness," "professional competence," "international mobility," "employability," and "teacher and student harmony." Through education, Nanhua university aims to foster good attitudes in students, provides domestic and international internship opportunities to improve students’ literacy and foreign language skills, and subsidizes students to participate in contests to win honors, allowing every student to gain a deep reflection on life, personal expertise, an international perspective, and the far-reaching recognition of Nanhua.
I look forward to meeting international students at various events during the year. And to welcoming a continuing ow of new students from international institutes.

Our goal is to help students become better through the medium of education. It may sound idealistic, but this is our mission. We are driven by the belief that everyone deserves a high-quality education and that this very opportunity is a basic human right. Regardless of where a child is born, who his parents are or even the color of their skin, we will aim to provide ample educational opportunities to every student. It is one of the most fundamental obligations that each generation owes to the next.
This is what motivates the work of everyone here at the Nanhua University — from the faculty and sta , to the students and the alumni. The alumni are the product of a university or its program. Alumni may also contribute in the form of scholarships for those who cannot a ord tuition fees and they will often be of great assistance for arriving students. Each alumnus can support one new student to become more familiar with their new environment.
Through continuous effort and dedication, the number of foreign students has gradually increased from 150 students in 2015 to nearly 500 students in 2017. This new semester greets the Fall 2017 with students from 16 countries and other areas from across the continents. The new students have come from the following countries: Australia, Brazil, Korea, Kyrgyz, Cambodia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Indonesia, Nepal, Japan, India, Great Britain, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, and Macao.
In the light of this, each issue will have a “Foreign Impression” column written by the students of their respective country. The rst issue will invite students to introduce their country and their observations of Taiwan.
