In this talk, BenQ proprietary color technology, AQColor, will be introduced. Starting from 2018, BenQ has been introducing AQColor technology into DesignVue and PhotoVue monitor products. The goal of AQColor is to achieve accurate and consistent colors on all applicable monitors with accessible price tag. BenQ’s philosophy has always been to provide users to the latest technology with equal opportunity. AQColor improves the monitor color rendering accuracy in four different aspects: introducing factory calibration, incorporating hardware calibration, integrating uniformity compensation, and delivering calibration report. Factory calibration ensures the monitors can deliver accurate colors out-of-the-box. Hardware calibration allows advanced users to calibrate the monitors to the desired targets. Uniformity compensation delivers a uniformed display surface so the colors are not location dependent. And lastly, calibration report offers a quick view of the monitor calibration result. By utilizing the four mentioned processes, most of the products embodied with AQColor technology has been awarded various third-party certifications, such as Technicolor Certification, Calman Verified, Panton Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated. AQColor technology complies to the latest ISO 12646 and 14861 standards, and the ICC profiles generated by the calibration software complies to ICC v2 and v4. In short, AQColor not only delivers the required color accuracy for the most color critical work, but also ensures the users can enjoy using the monitors whereas not overwhelmed by the technical difficulty imposed by the calibration process.
